    Qingbaijiang District, named after the Qingbaijiang River – an upstream branch of the Tuojiang River, is located 17 kilometers north to the downtown area of Chengdu City. Covering an area of 378 square kilometers and consisting of 11 villages/towns (streets) and 120 administrative villages (communities), it has a total population of 420,000 and is the first industrial zone in the Southwest constructed during the 1st 5-Year Plan period of the state and Sichuan’s important metallurgical, building materials and machinery manufacturing base. In recent years, the four western new-type industrial bases of commercial vehicle manufacturing, high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, and construction industrialization have gradually come into being; an international inland port connecting all around the district has been initially built up; a modern service industry supported by the Western Railway Logistics Center  and large commodity markets is growing rapidly; new industry and modern service industry – the “2-100-billion industries” – keep a good momentum of development. Qingbaijiang has been ranked into the top ten counties in comprehensive strength of Sichuan province for five consecutive years and is among the top hundred of China. It has won the “National Ecological Civilization Construction Pilot Area”, the “National Circular Economy Demonstration Zone”, the “Pilot District for National Intellectual Property Counties”, the first “National Land & Resources Conservation & Consolidation Model District” and many other awards.

    Qingbaijiang district has a long history with profound cultural background; its town prototype had already come into being in the Han Dynasty. It has a well-established infrastructure of transport, energy, communications, municipal facilities, etc.; the 4 trunk lines of Cheng-Nan, Cheng-Mian and Cheng-De Expressway and the 108 National Highway, the provincial line Tangba Rd. and the national trunk railways of Cheng-Yu, Bao-Cheng and Da-Cheng, passing through the Qingbaijiang River, constitute an expressway network leading to the whole country; 15 minutes to the downtown area via Cheng-Qing fast track, Huoyun-Beixin trunk lines, etc.; the Western Railway Logistics Center located in the district, which has Asia’s largest railway container central station, is the starting point of Rong-Ou Rapid Rail, the only national railway international port of Chengdu, an international logistics hub, and, an important modern logistics base in Southwest China. The district has pleasant ecological environment, with 48.01% urban green coverage rate and national grade II air quality.
